ABOUT ME

Yoga . Beach . Sunrise

I’ve always felt most at home near the water. I grew up on the Abrolhos Islands — a tiny speck off the coast of WA — surrounded by tides, coral, and wind. That’s probably where my love for the ocean began, and where I first learned what calm really feels like.

But life hasn’t always been calm. My yoga practice deepened after a really hard loss — one of those moments that shakes everything you thought was steady. Yoga became my lifeline. What started as a way to stretch turned into something much deeper — a way to breathe through the chaos, to hold myself together, to start again.

After years of living with anxiety, yoga helped me tune back in — to listen to my body and my breath the same way I used to listen to the ocean as a kid. It’s become my anchor, my medicine, my teacher.

In 2021, I co-founded Yacht Club Yoga in Port Melbourne — a place where everyone’s welcome. We practice by the bay, breathe in the salt air, and let the sound of the masts become part of the meditation. It’s not about perfection or performance — it’s about community, connection, and remembering that calm is our natural state.

That same energy flows into Eco Yoga Retreats, and now the Samoa Eco Yoga Retreat — where yoga meets purpose. There, the ocean connects us across cultures and continents. Together, we’ve planted coral and trees, supported reef restoration and reforestation, and raised funds for literacy resources, uniforms, and classroom supplies for Lalomanu Primary School — small ripples of kindness that keep moving outward.

Over the years I’ve trained in Yin Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pranayama, Mindfulness, Zen Thai bodywork, and Yoga Medicine modules including Lymphatics, MFR, Yoga & Menopause, and Sequencing — guided by incredible teachers like Tiffany Cruikshank, Hugh Lee, Chris Wilson, Ryan Mannix, Becca Andrews, Bess Prescott, and Gwyn Williams.

There's some more info about my trainings here.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we’re all just finding our way home — back to the breath, back to the heart, back to that quiet place inside that already knows peace.

The ocean connects us all.
Yoga reminds us to listen.
And every practice, every ripple, brings us a little closer to calm.

With love,
Jus x
