What is Ocean Flow™?
Ocean Flow™ is a Blue Mind-inspired yoga movement methodology designed to recreate the calming, connected feeling of being near water.
Blending Hatha yoga, somatic spinal movement, circular breathing, and wave-like sequencing, the practice uses continuous movement and nervous-system-aware pacing to guide students out of the busy mind and into a more grounded, embodied state.
Built around structured movement principles, looping transitions, and breath-led flow, Ocean Flow™ is less about performance and more about rhythm, sensation, nervous system regulation, and embodied connection.
Nothing to force. Nothing to rush. Just movement guided by breath, rhythm, and flow.
Born From The Ocean
Ocean Flow™ was not created in a studio.
It was shaped by a lifetime spent in and around the ocean.
Raised on the remote Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Western Australia, Justine Davis grew up immersed in the rhythm, movement, and sensory experience of life by the sea. Years later, while leading yoga retreats throughout Samoa and exploring the principles of Blue Mind, she became fascinated by the way water influences how we feel, move, and connect.
Over time, these influences evolved into Ocean Flow™ — a movement methodology that blends Hatha Yoga, somatic spinal movement, breath, rhythm, and wave-inspired sequencing to recreate the calm, grounded feeling we naturally experience near water.
Today, Ocean Flow™ is taught through classes, retreats, and immersive experiences designed to help people slow down, reconnect, and move with greater ease and presence.

The Ocean Flow™ Method

Ocean Flow™ is guided by six core principles inspired by the movement of water and the way the nervous system responds to rhythm, breath, and flow.
Breath
Breath is the foundation of the practice. Rather than forcing movement, Ocean Flow™ allows breath to initiate and guide the body.
Wave
Movement begins in the spine. Through undulating, wave-like patterns, the body softens, mobilises, and moves with greater ease.
Swell
Like the ocean expanding and receding, Ocean Flow™ explores cycles of opening and softening, creating a natural rhythm within the practice.
Current
Continuous movement and looping transitions create a sense of flow, reducing stop-start movement and supporting a more meditative experience.
Tide
Moments of stillness are woven throughout the practice, allowing integration, awareness, and connection to emerge.
Blue Mind
Inspired by the principles of Blue Mind, Ocean Flow™ is designed to help guide students from a busy, overstimulated state toward greater calm, presence, and connection.
Why Ocean Flow™ Feels Different
Ocean Flow™ is designed around the way the nervous system responds to rhythm, repetition, breath, and flow.
Rather than moving pose-to-pose, the practice uses looping movement patterns, wave sequencing, and circular transitions to create a more continuous and meditative experience. This softer, sensory pacing helps calm overstimulation and supports embodied flow states — where movement feels intuitive, immersive, and connected.
Inspired by the principles of Blue Mind, Ocean Flow™ guides students away from performance and into presence, using breath-led movement to create the spaciousness, calm, and grounded feeling we naturally experience near water.

Inspired by Blue Mind
Ocean Flow™ draws inspiration from the principles of Blue Mind — a term coined by marine biologist and author Dr. Wallace J. Nichols to describe the calm, connected, and mildly meditative state many people experience when they are near, in, on, or under water.
Research suggests that water can support feelings of relaxation, awe, creativity, presence, and wellbeing. Ocean Flow™ explores how movement, breath, rhythm, and sensory awareness can help recreate elements of this experience through embodied practice.
While Ocean Flow™ is not a Blue Mind certification, the methodology is deeply influenced by the relationship between humans and water, and the profound sense of calm, connection, and restoration that the ocean has offered people for generations.
At its heart, Ocean Flow™ is an invitation to move the way water feels.

Founding Cohort 2026
November 2026 marks the launch of the first-ever Ocean Flow™ Teacher Training.
This is more than a certification. It is an opportunity to become one of the first facilitators trained in a movement methodology inspired by the rhythm of the sea, the principles of Blue Mind, and a lifelong connection to water.
Over three immersive weekends, you'll explore the Ocean Flow™ Method through embodied practice, wave architecture, breath-led movement, teaching methodology, and supervised facilitation.
The Founding Cohort will be intentionally small, allowing for personal mentorship, meaningful connection, and a deeply immersive learning experience.
Graduates will become Ocean Flow™ Certified Facilitators, equipped to guide Ocean Flow™ classes, workshops, retreats, and movement experiences within their own communities.
As Ocean Flow™ evolves, the Founding Cohort will forever hold a unique place in the story of the methodology.
November 2026 • Melbourne Beachside Location • Three Immersive Weekends
Applications are now open.
Meet Your Teacher
Justine Davis is the founder and creator of Ocean Flow™ — a Blue Mind-inspired movement methodology shaped by a lifelong connection to the ocean.
Raised on the remote Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Western Australia, Justine comes from five generations of fishermen and grew up immersed in the rhythms, stories, and sensory experience of life at sea. This deep relationship with water would later become the foundation of her teaching and the inspiration behind Ocean Flow™.
Through years of teaching yoga, leading retreats throughout Australia and Samoa, and exploring the relationship between movement, nervous system regulation, and Blue Mind principles, she began developing a unique movement language centred around wave architecture, circular movement, breath, and embodied flow.
Today, Ocean Flow™ is taught through classes, retreats, and facilitator training, helping people reconnect with the qualities we naturally experience near water — calm, presence, rhythm, connection, and ease.
As both teacher and creator of the methodology, Justine continues to refine and evolve Ocean Flow™, sharing a practice inspired by a simple belief: when we move more like water, we often feel more like ourselves.
